J.Leiva - Alma Red Lacquered

The J. Leiva Alma Red Lacquered Cajon has been designed for percussionists who want an instrument that is responsive and easy to adapt to different playing situations. When a concert follows on from a rehearsal, or a piece requires a different colour during a set, the ability to quickly modify the timbre's behaviour becomes a real advantage.

This is precisely one of the strengths of this model. Thanks to the D.T.S. (Direct Tuning System), the four guitar strings can be adjusted directly from the outside of the Cajon, without the need for keys or tools. In just a few seconds, the musician can modify the tone response to suit his or her touch, the acoustics of the venue or the style of music being played.

In terms of sound, the Alma Red Lacquered develops a lively, expressive personality. The high notes come through with clarity and presence, helping to bring out the most dynamic rhythms. The bass, meanwhile, adds depth and a rounded feel that naturally supports the pulse of the piece. This combination works equally well with voice and acoustic guitar, or with a fuller ensemble.

The construction is based on a 100% Russian birch frame with seven 12 mm plies and a 3 mm laminated Russian birch soundboard. This choice of materials contributes to the instrument's stability, while maintaining good sensitivity in the hands. With its red lacquer finish, the Alma Red Lacquered also asserts a visual presence that immediately catches the eye on stage.
