Presentation
The JN Guitars YAK-ACFI Auditorium Doghair, from the Yakisugi series, is an auditorium-sized electro-acoustic guitar with a cutaway, designed to offer comfort and versatility to demanding musicians.
This model is distinguished by its solid mahogany top, a wood that gives a deep and warm tone, ideal for folk styles and fingerpicking, while offering excellent projection and a strong presence in all registers.
The mahogany used for the back, sides and neck of this guitar provides a harmonious sound coherence, reinforcing the mids and bass with a touch of warmth and sweetness. The mahogany neck, with a C profile, is covered with a black gloss varnish that gives it a refined appearance and offers a comfortable grip.
The walnut fingerboard and bridge complete the aesthetics and natural tone of the instrument, ensuring appreciable responsiveness and playing comfort.
The YAK-ACFI features a Fishman Sonitone active preamp with an under-saddle pickup, which faithfully captures the instrument’s acoustic nuances, delivering a clear and balanced sound when amplified.
The discreet and easily accessible volume and tone controls on the soundhole allow for quick and intuitive adjustment, while the side-mounted battery box ensures extended battery life for live performances or studio sessions.
The guitar’s unique “Doghair” finish is inspired by the traditional Japanese Yakisugi technique, which involves burning the wood to bring out its textures and grains, adding a distinct and elegant aesthetic touch. This process also recalls the craftsmanship of coopers in the manufacture of whisky barrels, emphasizing the attention to detail and authenticity of the instrument.
Equipped with black oil-bath tuners, the YAK-ACFI ensures exemplary tuning stability, while the black Tusq nuts guarantee optimal resonance and increased durability. The rosette with a black and white border, as well as the cream-white ABS binding, provide elegant finishes to the whole.
