D'Angelico - Premier Gramercy Natural

Some guitars are built for the road, whilst others are made for the living room. The D’Angelico Premier Gramercy Natural refuses to choose. Beneath its Natural colour and satin finish – which allows the wood to breathe rather than trapping it under a thick layer – the Grand Auditorium Single Cutaway body features a generous profile, measuring 406.4 mm in width and 101.6 mm to 119.38 mm in depth. The cutaway provides unobstructed access to the higher frets, without ever hindering rhythmic playing.
The solid spruce top, supported by finely sculpted X-Scalloped bracing, gives the body its natural projection and features the distinctive Wine double-ring rosette that visually sets the instrument apart. The laminated sapele sides and back impart a warm, woody tone, a far cry from the sterile sound of overly polished studio recordings. The 635 mm scale length and the Scarf-joined mahogany neck, with a C-shape profile and dovetail joint, maintain stable intonation without compromising playability, from the first chord to the last fret.
The rosewood fingerboard, with a radius of 355.6 mm, features 20 medium-jumbo frets over which folk arpeggios and barre chords glide. The double-action truss rod adjusts the neck curvature as the seasons change. The rosewood Stairstep bridge and Stairstep Wave tuners in an antique bronze finish complete the aesthetic with a nod to vintage design.
On stage, the Fishman Presys VT preamp puts volume and tone control at your fingertips. The 42.86 mm bone nut and D’Addario EXP-16 strings ensure a stable tone. Made in Indonesia, this Gramercy features a tortoiseshell Stairstep pickguard that completes the homage to archtop guitars.
