Latin

The Latin Percussion LP1406-PM features a mango body built like a barrel, creating a wide belly that brings out deep bass. The poplar front plate gives clean slaps that come out without strain, with a real difference between the treble and the bass. This larger format is easy to play and goes naturally with Pedrito's signature congas and bongos.

The Latin Percussion LP1406-PM Cajon uses a mango body assembled in staves, giving it a barrel shape that clearly changes the way the sound resonates.

The wide belly produces a fuller bass, helping to mark patterns without the need for pressure. The poplar front plate reacts quickly and produces clean slaps that stand out well from the bass. The larger format creates a sensation akin to a small tumba placed between the legs.

The 2 sets of integrated wires give a light grain that remains controlled as this model is not adjustable. The textured seat prevents slipping when playing for long periods. The Stained Mocha finish highlights the mango wood grain, giving a look that's halfway between traditional and modern.

Playing comes naturally thanks to the narrower top, which brings the hands closer to the ideal point of impact. The Cajon responds well even at low volume, making it practical for both acoustic and small amplified sets.

Latin Percussion was founded in 1964 in New York by Martin Cohen, who found it difficult to source musical instruments, partly because of import restrictions on Cuba following the 1962 missile crisis. It was impossible to buy congas, bongos and the like, so he made them himself! After a few unsuccessful attempts, he began to create good instruments, to establish himself on the market and then to become one of the leaders! He even became an exporter, so well known was his catalogue of products around the world!

Latin Percussion, also known as LP, is a brand of musical instruments specialising in ethnic percussion instruments. They are built to withstand the rigours of intensive use, on a drum kit, in an orchestra or other application. There's a real desire to innovate and give musicians something extra to play with, without losing any of the sensations.
