Presentation
At first glance, the Legator Ghost Super Shred 8 Death Valley asserts its character with its textured finish and progressive gradation, evoking the arid landscapes from which it takes its name. This 'headless' model has been designed to provide a balanced playing experience by shifting the weight towards the body of the instrument. This architecture prevents the neck from plunging forward, making it much easier to hold the guitar during long sessions, whether you're sitting or standing. The mahogany body, topped by an attractive top, provides a stable, resonant sound base.
The main asset of this model is its multidiapason system. With string lengths ranging from 673 mm on the treble to 698 mm on the bass, each string has a tension adapted to its frequency. This means that your eighth string retains excellent definition and doesn't become 'soft', while the higher strings remain supple for solos. The Canadian maple neck, 17.5 mm thick at the nut, is particularly thin to allow easy access across the entire width of the Richlite composite fingerboard.
On the technical side, the 3mm stainless steel Jumbo frets offer a very smooth contact surface. The advantage of this material is that it is extremely resistant to wear and tear, while facilitating slides and vibratos. The exclusive Legator locking system in the saddle, combined with the finely-adjustable bridge, ensures consistent tuning. This is crucial for an 8-string instrument, where precision in tune is essential in the lower register.
For the electronics, the 2 Aftershock active pickups have been calibrated to faithfully reproduce the instrument's timbre. They deliver a clean, articulate signal, capable of transcribing the nuances of your attack without excessive compression. Control is straightforward, with volume, tone and a three-position selector allowing you to quickly sculpt your sound. This Death Valley version is a complete working tool, designed to meet the needs of guitarists who value comfort and technical clarity.
