Here, the absence of a headstock allows all the weight to be transferred to the mahogany body, stabilising the instrument immediately. There's no need to hold the neck with your playing hand: the guitar stays in place, which makes all the difference to the precision of movement on such a wide neck.

The multidiapason system is the other key point. It keeps a firm tension on the eighth string, avoiding slobbery bass tones, while leaving the high strings flexible enough for leads.
