Presentation
Lynx Studio Technology's Mesa is a desktop Thunderbolt 3 audio interface, a standalone professional-quality analogue-to-digital conversion unit. It delivers the sonic transparency for which the Aurora(n) series is renowned, a benchmark for engineers and musicians.
This interface offers four low-noise inputs for microphone, line or Hi-Z instruments. Its combined connectors accept electric guitars, basses, keyboards and microphones directly, and the type of input can be selected for each channel. There are fourteen inputs and outputs, including two loop-through channels. For monitoring, the Mesa includes two headphone outputs, each with its own digital-to-analogue conversion and independent level controls. The monitor outputs use balanced ¼" TRS connectors.
The Mesa incorporates comprehensive digital I/O options: its optical ports handle S/PDIF (two channels) or ADAT (eight channels), and it has coaxial S/PDIF I/O. A Word Clock also inputs and outputs, ensuring rigorous synchronisation. The SynchroLock 2™ sampling clock ensures low jitter and high accuracy.
Its high-contrast capacitive touchscreen, an identical feature to the Hilo 2, allows intuitive control of all functions. Physical buttons - one for the Menu/Meters display and another for general mute - provide quick access. The Mesa offers great routing flexibility and extensive monitoring control. For immediate set-up, the unit offers ready-to-use audio routing configurations, allowing users to plug in and record without delay.
A MicroSD card slot allows the Mesa to function as a primary or backup recorder, ideal for live or remote recording. Thunderbolt 3 connectivity ensures universal compatibility with all Mac and Windows-based digital audio workstations (DAWs), such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, and GarageBand.
The Mesa is suitable for home recording set-ups, project studios and commercial production rooms. It accompanies musicians, sound engineers and live sound professionals who demand detailed sound and uncompromising fidelity.
