Manley - Core
Manley's Core is a Channel Strip with a Class A tube mic/line preamp, direct instrument input, ELOP 3:1 compressor, Baxandall EQ, Brickwall FET limiter and analogue VU meter. Manley designed the Channel Strip Core so you can concentrate on your performance, not your audio chain. It boasts the quality, performance and flexibility for which the Voxbox is renowned, at a price that makes it accessible to any professional artist or engineer. You get a renowned Manley preamplifier, followed by an ELOP-type 3:1 compressor for effortless dynamic controlan active Baxandall EQ, and a Brickwall FET limiter at the end of the chain that protects your converters from accidental clipping. Even if you plug straight in without touching a single control knob, you're sure to get an amazing sound.
Presentation
The signal passes through the famous Manley Iron® hand-wound nickel-laminated input transformer in a mu-metal housing. The tube amplifier stage is the latest application of the renowned Class A circuit topology already found in the Voxbox® and Manley's Double Mono and Mono mic preamps. This all-triode circuit operates on a 300 volt B+ regulated power supply giving huge headroom and sustained output amplification capability.
DIRECT INPUT ON 6.35 MM JACK
Similar to the DI input on the Manley SLAM!®, this fully separate transistor circuit with an input impedance of 10 MOhms is perfect for guitars, basses, keyboards etc.
FRONT PANEL CONTROLS
- 48 V phantom power switch.
- 120 Hz high-pass filter switch.
- Phase inverter.
- Input attenuator (variable value).
- Mic preamp gain adjustable to 40 dB or 60 dB (total gain >70 dB).
- Line amp gain adjustable to 20 dB or 40 dB.
COMPRESSOR
- Features ELOP® technology, also found in the famous Manley Voxbox®.
- The compressor is exclusively upstream of the preamp, making clipping virtually impossible.

LIMITER
- Fast attack FET brickwall limiter.
- Continuously variable threshold and release settings.
- Peak limiting LED indicator.
- 10 dB range output gain control.
LEVEL DISPLAY
- Large, illuminated analogue display.
- A 3-position selector allows you to choose whether to display the compressor gain reduction, the mic preamp output level, or the audio level of the main output.
EQUALIZER
- Flat Baxandall correction of bass and treble (80 Hz and 12 kHz) with a range of ±12 dB.
- Sliding bell midrange correction (100 Hz - 1 kHz) or (1 kHz - 10 kHz) with a range of ±10 dB.
