SPL - Track One Mk3

The SPL Track One Mk3 represents the third generation of the renowned console channel strip from the German brand SPL. Designed for recording studios, producers, content creators and broadcast professionals, it combines all the essential processing functions in a single unit, ensuring the sound is ready for mixing straight from the source.

At the heart of the unit are two independent preamplifiers: a microphone preamp with 48 V phantom power and a dedicated instrument preamp. Both have been developed to deliver an open, transparent and neutral sound, capable of preserving the character of even the most demanding microphones and instruments. The microphone preamp offers up to 63 dB of gain, allowing even low-output microphones to be utilised effectively.

The dynamics processing incorporates a particularly musical automatic compressor, whose attack and release times constantly adapt to the incoming signal. This approach ensures effective dynamic control without the artefacts often associated with conventional compressors. A discrete limiter mode is also available to safeguard levels during critical takes.

SPL’s renowned Auto-Dynamic De-Esser naturally suppresses sibilance without altering the timbre of the voice. Its automatic operation maintains consistent performance even when the distance between the speaker and the microphone varies, making it a particularly valuable tool for podcasts, interviews and vocal recordings.

The semi-parametric equaliser rounds off the package with LMF and MHF filters featuring proportional Q, as well as a dedicated AIR filter for opening up the high frequencies. This design allows for both surgical corrections and particularly natural musical enhancements.
