The SPL Track One Mk3 Premium is a high-end analogue console channel featuring a Lundahl LL2161 input transformer in the microphone preamp. This Premium version offers greater passive gain, a richer tonal texture and enhanced presence in the mid-to-high frequencies, whilst retaining the transparency and musicality for which the Track One Mk3 is renowned.

ARTICLE N° 123946
The SPL Track One Mk3 Premium incorporates all the features of the Track One Mk3 whilst adding a component particularly sought after by sound engineers: a Lundahl LL2161 microphone input transformer. This upgrade subtly alters the preamp’s behaviour and introduces an analogue colouration inspired by the great studio classics.

According to SPL, the transformers deliver greater density in the bass, a fuller lower-midrange, and a silkier, more present treble. This sonic signature is particularly well-suited to vocals, voice-overs, podcasts and many acoustic instruments.

The Lundahl transformer also provides up to 14 dB of additional passive gain, depending on the microphone used. As this gain is achieved before the active preamp stage, it adds no additional noise and takes the strain off the microphone preamp when amplifying the weakest signals.

The rest of the signal chain retains the Track One Mk3’s key strengths: a highly effective Auto-Dynamic De-Esser, an intelligent compressor with automatic attack and release times, a discrete limiter, and a semi-parametric equaliser featuring the renowned 19 kHz AIR SPL filter. Together, these features enable you to produce finished takes straight from the recording stage whilst maintaining an extremely fast workflow.

The SPL Track One Mk3 can be used as an external analogue processor within a DAW, transforming the Track One Mk3 into a true hardware ‘analogue plug-in’.

The compressor automatically adjusts its attack and release times according to the incoming signal, avoiding complex adjustments whilst maintaining a highly musical response.

Two Track One Mk3 units can be linked via the Compressor Link function to achieve perfectly coherent stereo processing – a feature rarely found on a console channel in this category.
