Marcus Miller's album Afrodeezia is a deeply personal project. Released in 2015, it explores the links between African, American and Caribbean music. Marcus uses many traditional instruments and collaborates with artists from several continents. The album was born out of his travels for UNESCO, where he discovered different African musical cultures. The compositions are a rich mix of jazz, funk, reggae and traditional rhythms. "Afrodeezia" shows a more cultural and historical side to his work. The album received an excellent critical reception thanks to its human dimension and its international musical ambition.
