Martin Guitars - 00L Oliver L Julie Heffernan LTD Gaucher + Housse
The Martin & Co 00L Oliver L doesn't just carry a work of art on its table: it makes it vibrate with every chord. The result of a striking collaboration with painter Julie Heffernan, this limited edition left-handed acoustic guitar merges the best of worlds: art, lutherie and materials. Its drop-shouldered Grand Concert silhouette conceals a body of flamed koa for tones that range from velvety fullness to woody clarity, topped by an FSC-certified solid Sitka spruce top, a canvas for the painting Self-Portrait as Arms and the Men. The Martin's attention to detail is evident in everything it does: a mahogany neck with a Modified Low Oval profile, ebony fingerboard and bridge, nickel fittings and faux Tortoise purfling. Produced in a limited edition of just 104, it combines artistic expressiveness, acoustic nobility and ecological commitment. A guitar to play... or to contemplate like a living painting.
Presentation
What awaits you acoustically? A fine response, warm and full of nuance. The medium flamed koa sides and back offer a unique compromise between chiselled brilliance and silky midrange. The sculpted 6.35 mm X-bridge guarantees controlled projection, whether you're strumming gently or attacking more forcefully. And the bone saddle? It's not there for show: it adds bite to the attack, without detracting from the overall smoothness.
It's a real pleasure to play. The contoured Modified Low Oval mahogany neck with High-Performance Taper glides under your fingers as if anticipating your playing. Ebony fingerboard, 406 mm radius, 632 mm pitch: whether you're strumming light folk or working out your wildest arpeggios, this Martin will go with you without a moment's hesitation. And the butterbean open action? They're vintage and hold the chord like a boss.

To find out more...
Behind this unique project is artist Julie Heffernan and her dreamlike approach to the modern world.
To take it a step further, think about accompanying it with a humidifier, a stand (made of wood, it's classier), and bronze phosphor cords: care and sound, hand in hand.
