Martin Guitars - OMC-X2E Ziricote Special Gaucher + Housse
Designed for left-handed players with cold fingers, the Martin & Co OMC-X2E Ziricote L Special combines tonal balance, playing comfort and striking style. With its 000 cutaway format and 645 mm pitch, it projects finesse while retaining a lovely roundness in the midrange. The solid sapele top is full-bodied, while the Ziricote HPL sides and back are as eye-catching as a heartfelt riff. The Performing Artist profile with High-Performance Taper lets you fly over the neck without question, and the sculpted X-bracing guarantees great resonance. Add to that a full-featured Martin E1 preamp, a discreet tuner and a thoughtful gig bag, and you've got an electro-acoustic calibrated for brilliant ideas and spontaneous flights of fancy. Use it without moderation, especially when inspiration strikes unexpectedly.
Presentation
This model makes no pretence when it comes to acoustics: solid sapele top, sculpted spruce X-bracing, everything is there to make every note vibrate with warmth and precision. The 645mm tuning fork provides extra projection without sacrificing comfort. You can bang away on it, and it responds with precision.
When you need to amplify, the Martin E1 system does the job: volume, tone and phase controls, and a chromatic tuner tucked away in the corner, ready to save you from dodgy F sharps. The sound remains faithful, clear and adjustable, whether you're in rehearsal or in the middle of a live show.
Aesthetically, we're flirting between discreet class and wow factor: the hand-applied satin finish keeps the whole thing sober, while the Ziricote HPL sides give off an almost marbled look. There's no need for gimmicks when your instrument looks like this.
