The Neutrik NP2XX-SILENT (2023) has been designed to solve this problem. This 2-pole 1/4" (6.35 mm) connector with mute switch incorporates automatic mute technology that prevents "pops" or crackles when connecting or disconnecting a live cable.
The secret of this plug lies in its integrated mute switch based on REED technology, which hermetically grounds the signal as soon as the cable is disconnected. This protects the amp and speakers from momentary overloads while ensuring a clean connection.
