The Boss BIC-PC is based on a real mechanical constraint: on a compact pedalboard, a rigid patch cable is a permanent pulling force on the output jacks.
Its custom-designed, angled 6.35mm jack connectors are not an aesthetic decision. The angle at which the cable exits follows the natural direction of the chainring - lateral pull on the jack drops to zero. The woven outer jacket remains flexible when cold, with no shape memory after winding, which avoids the spring effect that lifts lightweight pedals. Beneath this sheath, the robust braided shield cuts out interference from power supplies screwed under the platter - electrical silence is absolute between two boxes. The oxygen-free copper conductor carries the signal over these fifteen centimetres without any parasitic resistance. 24K gold-plated contacts seal every connection against oxidation in dressing rooms and damp rehearsal rooms.
