Stage Piano

The Nord Electro 7 HP is the heavy-touch version of the Electro 7 range. Featuring a new 73-note Kawai keyboard, it is aimed at keyboardists looking for more authentic piano playing, without sacrificing the versatility of the piano, organ and synth sections.

ARTICLE N° 117384
The Nord Electro 7 HP marks an important evolution in the Electro family, offering for the first time in this generation a heavy-touch action developed in collaboration with Kawai. This 73 HP version offers a playing sensation closer to that of an acoustic piano, while retaining a portable, stage-friendly format. It's particularly aimed at pianists who want a more natural response under the fingers, without moving on to a bulkier instrument.

At the heart of the Electro 7 HP is a sound architecture built around three independent modules: piano, organ and synth. Each section can be used on its own, layered or split across the keyboard using an advanced split mode. Nine split points are available, clearly indicated by LEDs, making it easy to configure zones quickly in live situations. Programme changes are made without sound interruption, ensuring smooth transitions between tracks.

Ergonomics have been significantly improved over previous generations. The high-definition colour screen provides a clear view of the essential parameters, while the new push-button rotary encoder navigation system speeds up sound and programme selection. The approach remains true to the Nord spirit: direct access to the main functions, without complex menus.

The piano section uses the latest banks from the Nord Piano Library, with fine management of sympathetic resonance, dynamic filters and several velocity response curves. Combined with Kawai's heavy touch, this gives precise control over nuances, particularly useful for expressive playing and solo parts.

The organ section incorporates modelling from Nord Organ 3, including phonic wheel organs, transistor organs and liturgical organs. The nine physical harmonic sliders, accompanied by LED bargraphs, offer immediate visual control. The rotary speaker modelling has also been revised, with advanced settings for pickup position and stop behaviour.

The programmable synth section completes the package with a modern approach, combining sample playback, analogue waveforms and FM synthesis. It features resonant filters, full envelopes and advanced play modes, while remaining easy to learn for real-time use.

The Nord Electro 7 HP is a well-balanced solution for live musicians looking for a credible piano feel, sonic versatility and ergonomics designed for live performance.
