Bongo or bongó Cuba is a percussion instrument that has spread throughout Latin music. It is a pair of drums secured to a membrane and each of which is larger than the other.
Bongo consists of a pair of cylinders or truncated cones, wood or synthetic fiber, each provided with a single membrane. These drums of the same height (20 cm) have different diameters (20 and 30 cm).
Originally, they were matched by a strip of cloth and percussionist asked all to play on his thigh.
