The Pearl HEK1480 snare drum is based on a unique hybrid construction that combines kapur and fibreglass to expand the sound palette. Kapur wood provides rich bass and natural warmth, while fibreglass adds punch and expressive projection. This combination produces a deep, full and musical sound.
With a depth of 8", this snare offers extended resonance and a real presence in the lower end of the spectrum. SuperHoop II hoops ensure solid tuning while allowing the body to vibrate freely. Spin-Tight tie rods ensure stable tension, even when playing hard, with a system that locks easily with the dedicated key.
The SR-1000 Glide-Lock release offers precise, smooth tone movement. The SN1420D timbre responds evenly to every strike. The original Remo Ambassador skin provides a balanced, expressive striking surface. The Ebony Lacquer finish with pearloid inlay adds an elegant, professional visual touch.
This snare drum is warm and deep in the mellow passages, yet delivers a punchy attack when the song gets going. It's just as suited to live performance as it is to studio recording. You can feel it has a real personality and an incredible reserve of power!
