The Pearl PHP1440-314 snare drum has everything to please percussionists! It's 100% maple, cut into 8 plies for a sound that's rich, deep and controlled. The maple body gives it that typical warmth so sought-after in symphonic music. You can tell it was made for the big rooms.
The sound is full and balanced, with a strong presence in the lower midrange. Every nuance is heard. The SR505 trigger lets you juggle between 3 types of timbre:
L = S-068SGT (8 strands of stainless steel cable with graduated tension)
M = S-069 (5 strands of nickel-plated cable)
R = S-068S (8 strands of stainless steel cable with uniform tension)
You can combine them, adjust them finely, and above all, change skins without losing your settings. It's a real time-saver and makes rehearsals and concerts more comfortable.
The trigger is silent, which is handy for subtle passages or clean stops. Visually, this snare drum is a real eye-catcher, with its high-gloss Barnwood Brown finish. Nickel-plated banding and tubular tie rods add a vintage touch.
