The lauan drums develop a dark, meaty and naturally controlled sound, with plenty of presence in the lower end of the spectrum. Presentation
The Pearl President Deluxe PSD923XPC-769 drum kit is a direct descendant of the Pearl kits that have shaped decades of music. The 7.5 mm 6-ply lauan drums produce a warm, thick and highly musical sound. The wood has a deep bass and a clean, clear attack.
The 22" x 14" bass drum creates a powerful base with a wide, enveloping impact. The 13" x 9" tom develops a round response, ideal for full, fluid fills. The 16" x 16" bass tom reinforces the rhythmic base with a dense, controlled low end.
The 45° rounded bevels promote even vibration and balanced resonance. The 'Battleship' shells provide excellent stability, while affirming the vintage character of the kit. Each barrel has an integrated mini muffler for quick adjustment of sustain to suit the playing context.
The 2.3 mm triple-flange Super Hoop II hoops provide natural, consistent projection. The original Remo CS Black Dot heads add punch and definition. The 'Gullwing' type bass drum feet ensure good stability both on stage and in rehearsal.
The Sunset Ripple finish adds a distinctly retro look, with warm, elegant reflections. This kit is equally at home in a rock, blues or soul context as it is in more rootsy music.
