The Pearl SCD1465TO-186 snare drum rests on a 25 mm barrel made of 2 layers of solid Thai oak, reinforced with a makha insert thanks to the Dado-Loc system. This unique process considerably increases the instrument's strength. This structure enables the barrel to produce a precise, powerful and deep sound, while retaining a beautiful natural resonance.

The MasterCast moulded hoops project the sound with clarity and control, and the Swivel Tube lugs limit contact with the body for optimum vibration. The UltraSound 20-strand phosphor bronze tone responds precisely to every nuance of the strike, while the SST-5047 tie rods ensure stable, even tuning.

The SR-150 Click-Lock release prevents the lever from loosening even on the fastest passages, so you can stay focused on your playing. The barrel is hand-lathed and lacquered, revealing the beautiful natural grain of the wood and underlining the care taken with each instrument. This combination of Thai oak and makha produces a balanced sound that's both dry and full.
