The Pearl STS1455SC-851 is a Session Series snare drum designed to cover a wide range of musical situations. Its 6-ply hybrid body combines 4 plies of birch and 2 plies of African mahogany to create a rich, homogenous sound base. The birch adds clarity and definition, while the mahogany adds warmth and depth. With a thickness of 5.4 mm, the body responds easily, even at low dynamics.

The 60° chamfers ensure precise contact with the skin, making the attack more straightforward and readable. This direct response helps the snare drum to stand out in a band without becoming aggressive. SuperHoop II hoops enhance tuning stability and add body to the rimshot. CL-55 shells, used on this 14" x 5.5" format, ensure even tension across the entire body.
