Presentation
The Pearl Session Studio Select STS924XSPC-851 drum kit is based on the DNA of Pearl's renowned recording kits. The 5.4 mm EvenPly-Six drums combine four plies of birch with two plies of African mahogany. This combination produces a balanced sound, with a precise attack and plenty of warmth.
The 22" x 16" bass drum provides a solid, deep base. The 10" x 7" and 12" x 8" toms are clear and easy to control. The 16" x 16" bass tom completes the package with round, contained bass. The 60° external chamfer enhances projection without making the sound aggressive.
The 2.3mm SuperHoop II hoops contribute to a smooth response throughout the dynamic range. The OptiMount system lets the toms vibrate without constraint. The RL-10 and RL-20 shells provide reliable hold over time. Remo UT Pinstripe skins on the toms make tuning quick and stable. The bass drum is fitted with a Remo UT Powerstroke 3 to channel the lower end of the spectrum.
The built-in mini muffler lets you adjust the sustain to suit the playing context. The dark mahogany inside of the drums enhances the sense of depth in the sound. The Emerald Ash finish adds a modern, elegant aesthetic that sets the kit apart on stage and in the studio.
