Presentation
The Savarez 516R is the sixth string in the 510R set - no more, no less - and that's precisely what it's designed to do. Its silver plated yarn over a nylon core produces a dense, well-defined low E, with the tonal balance that the normal drawbar calibrates for academic classical playing: enough mass to project the fundamental, enough suppleness for the pianissimo nuances of the Spanish and Baroque repertoires.
The loop feature shortens the bridge assembly - the string is housed without a knot, and the starting chord is stable from the very first minutes. Between the New Cristal trebles and the Cantiga basses, the 516R holds its place without widening the gap in timbre as the six strings rise.
