Sennheiser - EW-D SK (Q1-6)

The Sennheiser EW-D SK (Q1-6) is a digital UHF bodypack transmitter designed for Evolution Wireless Digital systems. It is aimed at singers, musicians, speakers, presenters, teachers and event professionals who are looking for a reliable wireless connection without compromising on audio quality.

Its digital UHF transmission eliminates the noise, interference and distortion typical of some analogue solutions. With a dynamic range of 134 dB and 24-bit audio resolution, the EW-D SK is capable of accurately reproducing both relatively quiet sources and performances with significant variations in volume. Its latency of just 1.9 ms helps to maintain a natural and immediate feel, which is particularly valuable for vocal and musical applications.

The Q1-6 version operates in the 470.2 to 526 MHz frequency range and is therefore a specific variant of the EW-D system. It is important to select a transmitter and receiver from a compatible range. The EW-D system also features a bandwidth of 56 MHz and can support up to 2,240 selectable frequencies and up to 90 channels, depending on the configuration.

The EW-D Smart Assist app greatly simplifies set-up: configuration, pairing and management can be carried out from a mobile device via Bluetooth Low Energy. Automated algorithms make it particularly easy to select and synchronise frequencies.

The transmitter features an all-metal housing designed to withstand the rigours of professional use. It is compatible with a wide range of Sennheiser headband, lavalier and clip-on microphones, but can also be used with an instrument source via the appropriate cable.

Battery life is up to 8 hours with two AA batteries (not supplied) and up to 12 hours with the optional BA 70 rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. The EW-D SK is therefore a particularly versatile solution for both fixed installations and mobile performances.
