Its cardioid polar pattern is a particularly valuable asset on stage. It prioritises sound coming from the front of the capsule whilst minimising the pickup of off-axis sources. This consistent polar pattern helps to better isolate the voice from other instruments and contributes to sound management in live settings.
With a frequency response of 40 Hz to 16 kHz and a sensitivity of 2.1 mV/Pa, the MMD 835-1 BK is suitable for vocal recording and applications requiring clear and dynamic sound reproduction. Sennheiser also specifies a maximum sound pressure level of 154 dB SPL, providing ample headroom for high-level sound sources.
The MMD 835-1 BK is an interchangeable microphone module, not a complete wireless microphone system. It can therefore be used to adapt or upgrade a compatible handheld transmitter without replacing the entire system.
The capsule is compatible with handheld transmitters from the Sennheiser ew G3, ew G4, D1, AVX, SpeechLine Digital Wireless and 2000 series.
