Sennheiser - MMD 845-1 BK
Designed for singing and live performance, the Sennheiser MMD 845-1 BK combines a dynamic transducer with a supercardioid polar pattern that is particularly effective at preventing feedback. It prioritises the voice whilst minimising the pickup of unwanted sounds and delivers a powerful, full-bodied sound. This interchangeable capsule allows for easy adaptation to a compatible Sennheiser handheld transmitter.
Presentation
Its supercardioid polar pattern effectively focuses the pickup on the voice whilst limiting sounds from other directions. This feature is particularly advantageous on stage, where monitor returns, amplifiers and other instruments can quickly increase the risk of acoustic feedback. Sennheiser also highlights the consistency of this capsule’s polar pattern.
The MMD 845-1 BK has a frequency response of 40 Hz to 16 kHz and a sensitivity of 1.6 mV/Pa. Its dynamic transducer requires no external power supply, and the capsule has no on/off switch. Weighing just 119 g, it also retains a compact design suitable for handheld transmitters designed to accommodate the corresponding Sennheiser capsules.
This microphone capsule therefore offers an attractive solution for singers, performers and sound engineers wishing to tailor the character of their wireless system. In particular, it can replace or complement another microphone head to achieve a supercardioid polar pattern and performance that is particularly well-suited to high-loudness stage environments.
