Showtec - Booster-4 Install

The Showtec Booster-4 Install provides a simple solution for installations where the DMX signal needs to be distributed stably to several fixtures. Instead of using an external splitter or extending an already loaded line, this module fits directly into a technical cabinet thanks to its DIN format. This approach means that DMX distribution can be centralised in a clean, durable infrastructure, reducing the risk of disruption to the lighting network.

The Booster-4 Install, sometimes referred to as Booster4-Install or Booster-4-Install, operates from a DC power supply of 12 to 36 V DC. This wide range provides a comfortable margin for installations already equipped with low-voltage power supplies. The module uses Phoenix plug-in connectors for all its inputs and outputs, making it easy to wire and maintain. The two DMX inputs are visually isolated from the four outputs, protecting the chain in the event of wiring errors, unwanted loops or electromagnetic interference.

The fixture can operate in simple DMX mode or in DMX+RDM mode, depending on the needs of the system. In particular, RDM allows compatible fixtures to be monitored and diagnosed directly from the console or network controller, making the job easier for installers. The flame-retardant polycarbonate chassis contributes to a durable installation, while front LEDs help to quickly check power status, the presence of a DMX signal or an RDM stream.

Its compact design allows it to fit into a standard DIN rail, with a form factor of 6 TE, and to distribute a single DMX universe to up to four independent lines. For fixed installations requiring reliable distribution and complete isolation, the Booster-4 Install fulfils its role effectively.
