At the heart of the instrument, the FATAR TP/40WOOD keyboard - handmade in Italy - faithfully reproduces the feel and resistance of an acoustic grand piano. Each key is equipped with three independent sensors, ensuring extremely accurate detection whether playing pianissimo or fortissimo. The dynamic response is natural and progressive, making every nuance immediately perceptible. This design provides a realistic, immersive playing experience, much appreciated by demanding pianists as well as orchestral and film composers.

Designed to fit in with both studio and stage set-ups, the SL88 Grand features a robust metal chassis and a compact design. Despite its full wooden mechanics, it weighs just 20.8 kg, making it easy to transport without compromising on sturdiness. The reinforced synthetic side panels protect the structure and make it easier to hold when moving around.

In terms of control, the SL88 Grand features an intuitive interface centred around a high-definition TFT colour screen and a six-way encoder. This combination makes it possible to navigate quickly between MIDI zones, adjust parameters or recall complex configurations in an instant. Three dedicated function buttons further simplify menu management, ensuring smooth, distraction-free ergonomics.

For real-time gaming, Studiologic has integrated three aluminium XY control sticks. The first, spring-loaded in both directions, typically handles pitch bend and modulation. The second, free in Y and spring-loaded in X, enables fine adjustments, while the third, completely free, is ideal for panning or fading. These controllers offer natural, immediate expressivity for all playing situations.

Finally, the Magnetic Rail System at the rear of the keyboard allows you to add accessories such as a stand for sheet music, a tablet or a laptop, attached directly to the chassis. The SL88 Grand comes with a VFP1/10 pedal and is compatible with SL Editor software for managing and saving your MIDI configurations.
