Presentation
The Taylor 854ce Next Generation guitar is designed for those who want the full sonic richness of a 12-string guitar, whether in the studio or on stage. Its Grand Auditorium format remains comfortable despite the 12-string configuration, with a balance that helps you stay in control of your playing.
The Sitka spruce top brings clarity and a good reserve of power, useful for bringing out every attack. The Indian rosewood back and sides develop a full bass register and a wealth of harmonics. This sound base brings out the typical shimmer of the octaves, much appreciated in folk, pop, acoustic rock or aerial accompaniment.
The V-Class bracing increases the overall volume and prolongs the sustain of the notes, making the chords more present and longer. Octaves remain true and well-defined throughout the neck, even in high positions.
The neo-tropical mahogany neck is designed to remain comfortable despite the extra tension of a 12-string. The result is a fluid feel that's perfect for long sessions. The West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard provides a smooth, stable surface under the fingers, ideal for arpeggios and repetitive playing. The Venetian notch gives easy access to the treble, making it ideal for enriching your arrangements or adding melodic lines.
For the stage, the Claria system captures sound in a regular and directly usable way. Controls in the rosette allow you to adjust the midrange contour during performance, without interrupting your playing. Meticulous finishes, such as the rosewood armrest, maple binding and high-gloss varnish, add to the comfort and premium feel of the instrument.
The guitar comes with a Taylor hard case, ready to take with you to rehearsals, recording sessions and concerts!
