Travel Guitar
The Vox APC-1-RD electric guitar is the instrument of choice for those who like their sound enhanced. The amaranth wood gives it body. Short or not, the attack hits cleanly. Sustain remains lively, and nothing dies out too soon. At 610 mm, the tension is correct but borderline. Below 10-46, it becomes flaccid. The feel takes a hit. The hardtail bridge? Planted directly into the wood. Result: every vibration goes through, nothing is lost. You feel everything. Every chord breathes and vibrates.

Presentation
The Vox APC-1-RD is an electric guitar that doesn't try to pretend. It's an instrument that thinks practical without betraying the stage.
With its short 610 mm body, it packs a punch. The poplar wood used on the body vibrates with clarity, without artifice.
The Tectonic Audio loudspeaker pushes hard on the midrange. No coincidence: it compensates for the low volume of the cabinet.
Boosted direct output? You can exceed 350 mV without forcing. It's not a toy, it's a tool.
The integrated gain is based on a discrete analogue stage. No fixed simulation here, it naturally pushes towards saturation.
Built-in effects? Driven by fixed LFOs, no dynamic envelope. Simple, but consistent with the format.
Output impedance is around 1kΩ. A discrete buffer protects the chain before headphone or loudspeaker output.
The internal amplification operates in class D. Less power-hungry, more stable when fully activated.
AA batteries? A choice of voltage first and foremost. Six units = 9V; Energizer Lithium models offer the best charge stability.
Boost, effects and rhythm engaged: no noticeable drop. The system handles peaks well, and there's no annoying hiss.
The voicing of the preamp remains centred on the midrange. It's perfect for breaking into a dense mix, without having to push everything.
The controls are intuitive! Selector, tone, volume: everything reacts without latency.
It doesn't need convincing. It just does what it's told.
On the move, at home, in rehearsal: it follows. No need to tame her, she's already ready.
