Waves - SoundGrid Rack for VENUE

The Waves SoundGrid Rack for VENUE has been developed to integrate the Waves environment directly into Avid VENUE | S6L consoles without relying on an external host computer. This solution allows front-of-house and monitor engineers to access Waves processing from the console's native interface with full tactile control of plug-ins via the S6L surface's physical encoders and controls.

This integration makes it possible to load up to 64 virtual stereo racks, each containing up to 8 Waves plug-ins. This allows users to build complex processing chains for vocals, drums, groups, matrices or masters while maintaining a fluid workflow directly in the VENUE environment.

The system is based on the Avid WSG-HD SoundGrid Option Card combined with a Waves SoundGrid server dedicated to DSP processing. This architecture enables the computing power required by the plug-ins to be deported, while maintaining very low latency for professional live productions.

SoundGrid Rack for VENUE also supports the advanced features expected in touring or broadcast environments. Plug-in settings can be automated via console snapshots, existing configurations remain compatible with older VENUE show files and the system can operate with a redundant server providing automatic failover in the event of failure.

This solution is aimed at productions requiring advanced processing directly accessible from the console: multi-band dynamic correction, real-time voice processing, analogue emulations, noise reduction, creative effects, spatialization or live mastering.

Integration with Waves Ultimate means that an extremely extensive library of professional plug-ins can be used in the S6L environment. Users will find the Waves tools most commonly used on tour and in the studio without having to change their working habits on an Avid console.

The system supports up to 128 channels of audio between the VENUE environment and SoundGrid at 96kHz. The system works without a dedicated external network switch and can be deployed on a single console or in dual configurations with full redundancy.
