Presentation
When several devices need to receive the same audio signal simultaneously, a simple parallel connection can result in signal level loss or impedance issues. The WORK WD 421 has been developed to address this issue by ensuring the reliable and precisely controlled distribution of professional audio signals.
Housed in a 1U 19-inch rack unit, it operates in two distinct configurations. In mono mode, a single input is distributed to eight independent outputs, whilst in stereo mode, two channels are distributed to four stereo outputs. This versatility allows it to be integrated into sound reinforcement systems as well as studios, control rooms or complex audiovisual installations.
Each output has its own level control, allowing the signal sent to each connected piece of equipment to be precisely adjusted. The WD 421 also ensures optimal impedance matching to maintain a stable output level, without unwanted attenuation, even when multiple devices are powered simultaneously.
To facilitate control of the installation, a VU-meter-style LED display provides a constant visual indication of the signal level. The unit also features a balanced LINK output for daisy-chaining multiple distributors, thus offering a scalable solution for installations requiring a large number of outputs.
