Exhaust mechanism: the exhaust mechanism on a piano With the tail releasing the hammers from the rest of the mechanics, so that they can bounce away from the strings after they have been struck, in order to avoid any interference with the vibration of these. This mechanism produces a slight resistance when the keys are pressed gently. Anxious to perfect the sensations on the three axes that are the touch, the sound and the pedals, summarized in the concept "Real Grand Expression", we decided to develop an exhaust mechanism in order to offer you an exceptional touch. The Clavinova have this exhaust mechanism which reproduces this perceived sensation when the key arrives at the end of the race. It is designed in such a way that the slight resistance occasioned is only perceptible when the keys are pressed gently, in order to recover the same sensations as on a real grand piano. The keyboards have been adjusted to provide additional friction that balances the repetition of notes without hindering performance.
