The Zildjian Gou Gong 17" follows in the tradition of gongs used in music therapy, meditation and chamber music contexts. Its B20 construction, combined with a thick structure and turned rim, provides a stable, controlled sound base, designed for environments where nuance counts as much as the presence of sound.
The sound character is characterised by a higher fundamental and restrained projection. The short sustain limits excessive diffusion and keeps the sound close, legible and almost centred. Compared with other, more open gongs, the harmonic richness remains more focused, enhancing clarity in small spaces or for targeted uses.
When played, the response remains direct, with a feeling of immediate control over the vibration. Successive strokes can prolong the sustain of the sound and set up a longer progression, useful in relaxation practices or immersive atmospheres.
Supplied with a suspension cord and discreet Zildjian branding on the front and back, this 17" model is ideal for configurations where controlled volume and sonic precision are priorities.
