The Zildjian FX ZXT Trashformer 10" has clearly been designed for drummers who like to produce more atypical sounds and add depth to their set-ups. With its compact 10-inch size and distinctive wavy profile, this effects cymbal develops a fast, bright and deliberately trashy attack, perfect for short, edgy accents.
Played on its own, it produces an explosive splash effect with plenty of air and an almost noisy feel that works very well in modern passages, breaks or more experimental grooves. In a stack, it completely changes the behaviour of another cymbal by adding a very pronounced layer of white noise. This is typically the kind of effect you find in modern metal, gospel, electro, live hip-hop or certain fusion productions.
