Let's face it, film-makers and professionals looking for impeccable recordings even for narration-type work have an incredible new tool at their disposal. The 32-bit floating-point technology installed in this multitrack digital recorder with 8 mic preamps enables you to record the full dynamic range, capture the most complex sounds, expand your possibilities and bring magic to post-production.
The Zoom F8n Pro features dual A/D converters and professional-grade preamps for top-quality results, without ever needing to adjust the gain. It also has three outputs for connecting external devices, headphones and cameras. You can use your headphones to monitor the pre- or post-fader level of your tracks, check levels, route signals left or right and set alerts for battery and recording status.
Zoom F8n Pro offers flexible signal routing from all inputs to all outputs, phase inversion and mid-side decoding. It also provides high-pass filtering to reduce wind noise and other extraneous noise. Offset delays are also available on inputs and outputs.
State-of-the-art timecode
Keep your tracks perfectly synchronised, even after switching off. Whether the unit is switched on or off, the F8n Pro's temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) generates timecode accurate to 0.2 ppm.
The Zoom F8n Pro can connect to your computer as a USB 2.0 audio interface and send its inputs separately to your favourite DAW or streaming software, while recording your tracks to its SD card.
Recording security: record simultaneously to two SD cards of up to 1 TB each (redundant recording).
Finally, the Zoom F8n Pro is compatible with 360º sound work:
- The F8n Pro's ambisonic mode offers precision A-to-B decoding and balanced gain coupling to capture spatial sound for virtual reality, augmented reality and more.
