Gypsy Guitar
Discover the Altamira M01 Left Handed RN, a gypsy guitar for left-handers inspired by the Selmer-Maccaferri models that marked the history of Django Reinhardt's playing. Its solid European spruce top, combined with rosewood, delivers a precise attack, great projection and the acoustic character sought after in Gypsy swing. Designed for pompe, ensemble playing and solo phrases, it comes with its own case.

Presentation
The Altamira M01 Left Handed RN recaptures the spirit of the great Selmer-Maccaferri guitars in a version designed for left-handed players. This type of instrument occupies a special place in the history of Gypsy jazz, and is still closely associated with Django Reinhardt's playing.
The story begins in 1932, when Selmer, a French manufacturer, collaborated with Italian guitarist and luthier Mario Maccaferri to develop a series of acoustic guitars with an unusual design for the time. Even after the collaboration ended in 1934, Selmer continued to build several models until the early 1950s. Over time, these instruments became a benchmark in the world of gypsy jazz, thanks to their acoustic presence and instantly recognisable sound personality.
The M01 Left Handed RN carries on this heritage, with a solid European spruce top for fast attack and great definition. The rosewood back and sides enrich the register with greater depth and nuance, while the mahogany neck with ebony inner bracing and ebony fingerboard contribute to a stable, fluid feel.
Its 670 mm pitch, 21 frets and 52 mm nut retain the reference points sought after in traditional Manouche playing. Manouche swing, pompe, acoustic accompaniment or improvisation: this left-handed version recaptures the identity of historic instruments while remaining adapted to modern playing. The case included makes it easy to transport between rehearsals and concerts.
