Gypsy Guitar
Discover the Altamira M01F Antique, a gypsy guitar inspired by the Selmer-Maccaferri models, with its F-holes and distinctive sound character. Its solid European spruce top, 670 mm scale and Savarez Argentine strings give it a lively attack and the typical grain sought after in gypsy jazz, swing and rhythmic acoustic playing. Supplied with a case for easy transport and day-to-day protection.

Presentation
The Altamira M01F Antique recaptures the spirit of the great historic Gypsy guitars, while adding its own visual and sonic personality thanks to its F-shaped soundholes. At first glance, the Altamira M01F Antique moves away from the classic acoustic guitar and into a drier, livelier world that's closely linked to collective playing.
This type of guitar was made famous by Django Reinhardt and is still associated with gypsy jazz, but its appeal goes much further. It's an instrument that reacts quickly, loves a clean attack and gives a feeling of closeness to every note played.
The solid European spruce top contributes to this impression with an immediate, precise sound. The laminated Indian rosewood back and sides retain their presence without weighing down the instrument's response. The result is a sound that's easy to read in the chords, yet still has depth in the melodies.
The 670 mm tuning fork adds the tension characteristic of Manouche playing: attacks seem sharper, the pump comes out more precisely and solo phrases are more articulate. The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard give the instrument a direct, stable feel.
This guitar has a natural place in gypsy jazz, acoustic swing, gypsy waltzes and pompe playing, as well as in certain acoustic folk contexts where more character and projection are required. Originally fitted with Savarez Argentine strings and supplied with a case, the M01F Antique retains the spirit of a guitar ready to go out, play and make the rhythm come alive.
