Presentation
The Art & Lutherie Roadhouse Faded Black A/E is a guitar that doesn't try to please everyone - it knows who it's for. The parlor format brings the pitch down to 630.936 mm, which tightens the left hand on the neck and makes high positions far less acrobatic. The semi-gloss Faded Black finish gives the body a well-worn look, that of a guitar that has seen things before.
The body is built from Canadian wild cherry back and sides, giving a clean mid-range response with a distinctive grain that spruce or rosewood just don't give. The solid cedar top comes into play with a light touch - no need to press hard for the sound to come out, this wood responds to the slightest effort. The rosewood bridge and fingerboard anchor the bass and keep the spectrum consistent throughout the Silver Leaf maple neck.
The 43.688 mm Graphtech nut keeps the strings in line and reduces friction when tuning - a detail that changes life live. The 16:1 ratio tuning machines deliver smooth, fine tuning. The A6 LT string set (.012 to .053) is calibrated for this format: enough tension for the sound to carry, not too much to keep the thumb free. And when the stage calls, the Fishman A/E transducer with its volume and tone control delivers a direct, clean, no-fuss output.
