B&C Speakers - 12FW76 4 Ohm

The 4 ohm version of the 12FW76 is a versatile loudspeaker for bass and low-midrange applications, capable of delivering substantial acoustic pressure without sacrificing precision.

Built around a 76 mm copper voice coil, this model delivers up to 1000 W in programme, while guaranteeing stable thermal behaviour thanks to a deep air gap (11 mm) and generous winding (19 mm).

One of the main assets of this loudspeaker is its excellent efficiency of 99 dB, coupled with an efficient ferrite motor, completed by an aluminium demodulation ring.

This combination significantly reduces distortion, particularly at the top end of the useful spectrum, up to 3 kHz. The result is a clean, tight signal that retains dynamic range without excessive coloration.

With a mechanical Xmax of ±7 mm (and an Xvar extended to 8.5 mm), this loudspeaker easily handles high excursions, without saturating or fatiguing the cone. The rigid, well-ventilated aluminium bowl makes it ideal for reliable integration in a 40-litre bass-reflex loudspeaker tuned to around 65 Hz. Its natural response starts at 55 Hz, making it ideal for use as a two-way full-range loudspeaker, or as a bass element in more complex systems.

The design remains simple but effective: triple-roller suspension, waterproof cone on the front, ferrite motor, and a balanced moving mass (69.5 g), held in place by a BL of 20.4 T-m. A solid choice for those looking for power, clarity and perfect compatibility with low-impedance amps.
