Avantone Pro - AV10 MLF

Giving a second life to reference monitors is above all a question of mastering the lower end of the spectrum. With the AV10 MLF, Avantone has set out to recreate the NS-10M woofer with a level of precision that goes beyond mere mechanical compatibility. The aim is to preserve the characteristic bass and low-midrange reproduction that has made these speakers an essential studio tool.

The AV10 MLF is the result of extensive reverse engineering work, covering both electrical parameters and acoustic behaviour. From 20 Hz down to the crossover frequency, the response of the loudspeaker closely matches that of the original model. This fidelity guarantees perfect continuity with the existing tweeter and crossover, without altering the overall balance of the system.

One notable change, however, has been made to the cone design. Where the original used an overlapped joint diaphragm, Avantone has opted for a one-piece cone formed by continuous pressing, from the same supplier as the original. This change allows for stricter quality control and greater consistency from one copy to the next, while respecting the expected sound signature.

In practical terms, the AV10 MLF is physically and dimensionally identical to the original loudspeaker. It is a direct 'bolt-in' replacement, requiring no modifications to the cabinet or special adaptations during installation. This simplicity is particularly useful for quick restoration or maintenance work in a professional environment.

As with the entire CLA Monitor family, Avantone has also updated the materials to meet current environmental standards, while improving the component's longevity. The AV10 MLF thus offers a reliable alternative to second-hand parts, which are often expensive and whose actual condition is uncertain, while retaining immediate sonic consistency from the moment it is put into service.
