B&C Speakers - FB354V2 16 Ohm Crossover

The FB354V2 16 Ohm has been designed by B&C Speakers as a direct evolution of the FB354 crossover, intended for environments where mechanical, thermal and acoustic constraints go beyond standard use. This PRO version is aimed primarily at system integrators and designers looking for maximum SPL, while retaining precise control over the behaviour of the DCX354 coaxial driver.

In terms of filtering, the FB354V2 uses exactly the same electronic scheme as the FB354, with a cut-off frequency set at 5.6 kHz and asymmetrical slopes of 18 dB/octave and 12 dB/octave. This choice guarantees a balanced transition between the midrange and treble diaphragms, ensuring a smooth response and phase coherence suited to high-precision point-source systems.

The differences lie in the power-oriented design. The inductors are replaced by models with a higher dissipation capacity, enabling the filter to withstand higher energy levels without saturation or excessive heating. At the same time, the filament bulb protection network is deliberately eliminated, leaving the user in charge of dynamic control via a DSP and properly configured limiters.

This approach offers greater freedom of adjustment, particularly in systems where passive filtering is combined with advanced digital management. The FB354V2 thus makes it possible to exploit the full potential of the DCX354 motor in very high-level applications, while maintaining a controlled safety margin thanks to appropriate external dynamic processing.
