Black Lion Audio - PBR8 500 Patchbay

With the PBR8 500, Black Lion Audio offers much more than just a rack for 500 format modules: it's a true modular creation centre with an integrated TT patchbay, designed for modern studios. The result is a powerful, ergonomic tool designed to stimulate sound experimentation.

In a rack-mountable 3U format, this chassis accommodates up to 8 500 modules and features an exclusive TT/Bantam patchbay on the front panel, giving immediate access to all the inputs and outputs of each slot, as well as two mults, ideal for parallel processing. These signal duplicators allow the signal from a single module to be sent to several destinations - perfect for creating complex effects chains or comparing several processes on the fly. All without ever having to dismantle your modules.

The PBR8 500 also features stereo linking between adjacent slots, simply activated by a front-panel switch. For more advanced configurations, internal jumpers provide additional flexibility in assigning links.

As for the power supply, Black Lion has drawn on its modding experience to offer clean, silent and reliable electronics. Each slot has its own power regulation, reducing the risk of crosstalk between modules. The power supply delivers up to 400 mA per rail and per slot, with an overall capacity of 1.6 A per rail, more than sufficient for the most demanding modules.

The construction follows Black Lion standards: perforated steel chassis for good heat dissipation, gold-plated connectors (XLR, DB25, TT), black anodised aluminium front panel and compact, neat design. The patchbay even incorporates the custom voltage TT connectors already tried and tested on the PBR-TT models, for consistently reliable connections.
