The Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion effect pedal is like grafting a nuclear power plant onto your guitar. The Bottom control adds extra heft for Drop or 6- and 7-string guitars, and the 3-band EQ tunes each frequency like a blacksmith tunes his anvil. One flick of the pick and the wall of sound responds. With the Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion, your signal doesn't saturate. It explodes.
Presentation
Where the MD-2 really comes into its own is with its Bottom control. Specially designed for 6- or 7-string guitars, it adds depth in the lower registers without bogging down the rest. As a bonus, you can sculpt your sound with the 3-band EQ and adjust the frequency balance with the Tone control. Gain Boost, Dist, Level... each setting is ready to accompany you from rehearsal to the stage, always with that thick, biting grain that's so unforgiving.

The Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion unleashes its full potential through six precise controls, designed to sculpt a massive, aggressive sound made for modern metal.
GAIN BOOST: Adds an extra layer of distortion to the signal, complementing the DIST control. Ideal for dense, saturated sounds. The further you turn the knob to the right, the more it spits.
DIST: Determines the intensity of the main distortion. At full power, you enter the realm of extreme saturation.
TONE: Refines the overall character of the effect. On the left, the sound becomes softer and darker; on the right, it becomes sharper and more incisive.
BOTTOM: A control dedicated to low frequencies. At full tilt, the bass becomes thicker and more muscular.
LEVEL: Adjusts the output volume of the effect. Adjust to balance the levels between the processed sound and the clean sound.
Connections and activation
INPUT: Plug your guitar in here. Inserting a cable automatically powers the pedal.

Tip: To avoid draining the battery, remember to disconnect the INPUT cable when the pedal is not in use.
