Presentation
The Cayin IDAC-8 Silver is a digital-to-analogue converter with a preamplifier function, designed to get the most out of modern digital audio sources.
Its architecture is based on two AK4499EX converters paired with two AK4191EQ controllers, with a dedicated DAC for each channel to optimise channel separation and signal-to-noise ratio. This design supports PCM files up to 32-bit / 768 kHz as well as DSD512 streams.
To cater to the user’s preferences, the Cayin IDAC-8 Silver offers two distinct output stages. You can choose between a transistor output or a valve output using four 6H6B-B valves configured in a balanced arrangement. This flexibility allows you to choose the sound reproduction best suited to the music you are listening to and your system.
Its power supply is based on a 45-watt toroidal transformer, accompanied by filter capacitors designed to provide a stable current to the various circuits.
Thanks to its numerous digital inputs, including USB-B, AES/EBU, HDMI I2S, optical and coaxial, it can be connected to a computer, a network player or an SACD player. Its RCA and XLR outputs, available at fixed or variable levels, also make it easy to integrate as a DAC or preamplifier into a hi-fi system.
