This humbucker was born just as racks and high-gain amps arrived in studios and on stages everywhere. It's been designed to keep a good presence, even with a ton of effects behind it. The bass is firm but not slobbery. The midrange has a distinctive colour, a kind of natural 'aw' that helps to cut through the mix. And the highs? They shine, but without breaking your ears.
The pickup is at home as a neck for leads, or as a bridge if you don't need an overdriven mic. Combining it with a warm X2N-type mic works like a charm.
If you like to have control over your sound without sacrificing grain, this is a great base!
