Designed for those who think outside the box, the DiMarzio Steve's Special DP161FBK is a bridge pickup that doesn't follow the usual rules of powerful humbuckers. Where others go straight to the point with very present midrange, this one chooses to broaden the spectrum. The result is solid bass and well-defined highs, but a deliberate dip in the midrange. The result is an airy sound, perfect for big palm mute riffs and fast solos.
With overdrive, the signal remains clean, without the notes mixing. Do you play on a Mesa or ENGL amp with a heavy midrange? This pickup balances things out effectively.
