With the DP290FBK Fortitude Bridge pickup, DiMarzio and Joe Duplantier (from the band Gojira) have created a mic that combines the warmth of a vintage PAF with the modern response demanded by the metal music genre. Based on the PAF 36th Anniversary, this pickup retains the musicality of the old humbuckers, but with reinforced bass and a more present midrange.
As soon as you strike the strings with force, the low-end spectrum becomes denser, giving a massive yet clear sound. Ideal for drop tunings and saturated distortion, it remains accurate even at high gain. Its F-spacing makes it ideal for guitars equipped with a Floyd Rose or similar tremolo.
Joe Duplantier wanted a dynamic pickup, where every nuance of playing stands out. The Fortitude excels in this respect, with incisive pick attacks, pulverising palm mutes and defined arpeggios. A must for those looking for a vintage sound, but with the power of modern metal!

Joe Duplantier is a Franco-American musician, best known as the singer, rhythm guitarist and lyricist of the heavy metal band Gojira. He is also a music producer and environmental activist. Born in Paris, he grew up in Ondres and co-founded Gojira with his brother Mario in 1996.
