With the DiMarzio DP717BK Occult Classic Neck pickup, you'll rediscover the pleasure of playing on the neck pickup! Dave Davidson, who knows a thing or two about saturation, wanted a pickup that could keep a clear sound even when the going gets tough.
The aim? To have a smooth, round sound, but with enough edge to come out of the mix. And it works. On lead, the pick-up produces a creamy, very fluid sound. But when clean, it becomes warm, almost woody, with a nice, tight low end. Even under heavy distortion, the sound remains articulate, never muddled.
This humbucker is perfect for fast solos, arpeggios or jazzy chords. It shines on long-string 7-string guitars. Its low output level gives it great dynamics. You'll be able to push your amp without it going all over the place.
Finally, it's an excellent complement to the bridge model, forming a very well-balanced duo. The sober matte-black look fits in perfectly with a modern guitar.
